Aquatabs tablets contain NaDCC, a stable ingredient that delivers an accurate dose of chlorine to create safe water and a reserve to keep water safe.
NaDCC is a common abbreviation of sodium dichloroisocyanurate. Na is the chemical symbol for Sodium. NaDCC can also be called Troclosene sodium and Sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione.
Troclosene sodium is an alternative name for NaDCC, the active ingredient in Aquatabs tablets.

Aquatabs are incredibly effective in killing the bacteria responsible for cholera. Independent studies and ongoing performance checks validate that we kill 99.9999%* of vibrio cholerae in water.

Log refers to a scale based on an order of magnitude of 10-fold. Reducing the number of bacteria present by 1-log means killing 90% of those present, as only 10% or 1 in 10 remain. Aquatabs will deliver 6-log reduction for many bacteria (killing 99.9999% of those present).

Drink plenty of milk or water. Although Aquatabs are non-toxic, as ever with these matters, you should always seek medical advice at your earliest opportunity.
That is no problem. Ensure all pieces are available, then place them in the container and add water. Do be sure to rinse your hands clean of Aquatabs dust particles.
Yes, provided that the products are used as per instructions for use. This is based on guidelines from WHO and other authorities. Visual instructions for use can be found on the back of the original strip of tablets.
Aquatabs are generally safe to handle, however the active ingredient is classified as an eye irritant under GHS regulations. For this reason, contact with the eyes when handling the tablets should be avoided, and appropriate precautions taken in relation to this. Please refer to instructions for use and SDS for handling and first aid information.
Yes, Aquatabs can be used in cloudy or dirty water. However, it is recommended to filter the water using a cloth if it is very dirty or contains debris before using Aquatabs. Additionally, it is advisable to increase the available chlorine to approximately 5mg/L for better effectiveness.
No maintenance is required in relation to NaDCC tablets/Aquatabs tablets.
